    This is what happens when you permit academics with no experience in the real world to perform a simple task. They make it obtuse, complex, and difficult.

    Using a simplified version of an existing language would have been too simple. Spanish for example, would make a good base as the pronunciation is simple, consistent, and easily learned. It also has the advantage of a large portion of the human race already having at least some familiarity with it.

    They could have applied the same goals of simplicity and regularity with far less difficulty for humans and robots alike. But noooooooooooo.

    There already is a constructed language which achieves exactly this: an easy to learn, entirely logical, excessively simplified, and extensively useful language designed to be understandable no matter your language background: Lojban
